Next year, the world congress of the International Association for the History of Religions will take place in Kraków, Poland, from August 24–30. The call for papers ends on December 1, 2024. Papers can be submitted for inclusion in one of the open panels which have already been accepted. There are currently three open panels that deal with the intersection of DH and the Study of Religion(s) with slightly different foci.
- Panel 25. Computing Religion: Computational Approaches, Research Databases, and Quantitative Methodologies in the Study of Religions, Convenors: Tomas Glomb (Masaryk University), David Zbiral (Masaryk University), Tomas Hampejs (Masaryk University)
- Panel 36. Exploring Religious Spatialities: Advancements in the Study of Sacred Architecture through Digital Humanities, Convenors: Silvia Omenetto (Sapienza Università di Roma), Angelica Federici (Fondazione Bruno Kessler)
- Panel 43. Bridging Boundaries: Digital Humanities and Religious Studies, Convenor: Myself (Ruhr University Bochum)
If you plan to attend the IAHR conference (or know of colleagues who do), these might be possible candidates for your contributions. Papers accepted for the conference that do not end up being part of the selected panel will still be included in the conference program as individual presentations, so you do not lose anything by assigning your contribution to a panel.
